Accidental Cowlitz County Killing - Or Serial Killer Set Up Killing?

A 35-year-old woman who was lying in West Side Highway north of Castle Rock died when she was struck by a truck at 12:30 a.m. Friday, according to the Cowlitz County Coroner’s Office.
Rachel Marin, a Kelso-area transient, died at the scene of traumatic bodily injuries, Coroner Tim Davidson said. Her death, which occurred in the 7300 block of West Side Highway, has been ruled an accident. Her family has been notified.
Initially it was uncertain whether Marin died from the impact or or whether she was already dead before she was struck.
According to the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office, Marin was wearing a black jacket and lying in the middle of the road when she was struck by a truck. The motorist, a 19-year-old Castle Rock man, thought he was driving over a plastic bag but realized he had hit something solid. When another vehicle arrived, he asked the driver to call 911.
Life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
The truck driver was cooperative with detectives, and his name will not be released at this time, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Davidson said standard toxicology tests will be done, but they typically take several weeks to complete.
Marin died in a remote section of the highway that is near the Cowlitz-Lewis County line. It was not immediately known why she was out in the roadway in such a remote location.
